I am following up on an eBird report of some Evening Grosbeaks coming to feeders in two yards at Woodsbend in Morgan County. The cousin of former KOS member, Gary Elam, has seen up to a dozen or so during the past month, but it sounds like they have been less reliable lately. I will post any update to their status if I receive one. Eddie Huber and I birded Green River Lake, Glasgow's cemetery, and Barren River Lake yesterday. We missed the male White-winged Crossbill at the cemetery but it was seen earlier in the day. Both lakes had little in the line of migratory waterfowl, just mostly some of the same wintering birds we've seen in recent weeks. Green River Lake had at least 100 Horned Grebes, but migrants appeared to be limited to 10 Northern Pintail and 2 Redheads. At Barren River Lake, the only migrants we saw there were a male Red-breasted Merganser and 10 Ring-necked Ducks. bpb & ebh, Louisville ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== When posting on BIRDKY, please close posts with your first and last name and your address (city or county). * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To post on BIRDKY, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the KOS website at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos/default.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the KOS Photo Page to view photos of birds recently sighted in Kentucky: http://www.flickr.com/groups/kentucky_ornithological_society/pool * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison.
