14 May 2011: I visited KY 739 Transient Pond earlier today and found that the water had risen even more since my last visit. I was amazed. As it began to shower (a little cold for me) I packed up and left before doing much observation. However, I did observe 4 Mallards and ~30 American Coots. I noted that the water was apparently near peak, but not dropping an my brief visit produced no shorebirds other than killdeer. At nearby "wet spot" occupying less than an acre, I observed ~ 20 Lesser Yellowlegs, ~10 Least Sandpipers, and 2 Dunlin. While there, I heard my FOS Grasshopper Sparrow. That concludes this report.
