About 200 EDT this afternoon, Del Striegel found a Laughing Gull at the Falls of the Ohio with about 100 Ring-billed Gulls. It is a nicely plumaged adult and was still there about 415. Today I finally got a few pictures of the surreal-looking adult male White-winged Scoter that has been down on the river just above the Falls for several weeks; the second bird is still in his company; the red coming in on its bill suggests it is an imm. male, but it still has a brown eye. A couple of days ago in the same location there was a bird that must have been a hybrid Lesser Scaup x Ring-necked Duck. It had light gray sides, a "funny" shaped head, and a very obvious white ring around the bill out near the tip. bpb, Frankfort
