To piggyback on Brainard's email, I for one would like to see birders post even
casual observations and lists on this bird line more often. I enjoy knowing
what's being seen around the state, and I don't usually have the time to check
a number of eBird lists. I'm not even sure where to check...there are a lot of
lists.
I spent an enjoyable hour down at the Wax campground on Nolin Lake this
morning...no new arrivals, but lots of orioles and red-headed woodpeckers among
the local birds. Yellow-throated, prothonotary, palm, and yellow-rumped were my
only four warblers today.

For those not looking at eBird and who may be in west KY, I see that Clay
Bliznik has reported *80* Willets at Ky Dam Village this morning.
Eric Hope and I visited Bernheim Forest for awhile this morning. Not many
migrants, but the "back side" Mt. Carmel Church/Harrison Fork Road was very
birdy with many nesting songbirds in evidence. Migrants were particularly
scarce; when I got home I was trying to pish in what would be a migrant
Yellow-throated Vireo and had a pretty Blackburnian Warbler come in ... so
migrants are around even if they aren't singing much.
The Melco Flood Retention Basin has been pretty dull this spring, but numbers
of common shorebirds are finally picking up there; Eric and I had small numbers
of 8 species this morning (Killdeer, Semi Plover, both yellowlegs, Solitary,
Spotted, Least, and Pectoral).
