Nearly 60 members and guests enjoyed the KOS fall meeting at Henderson this past weekend. The programs were really good and the weather was nice (I think everyone actually enjoyed seeing a little rain on Sunday morning!). The birding was relatively slow at Sloughs WMA, with a single Marsh Wren, a couple of Soras, and a family of Sedge Wrens being the only things "marshy" that were encountered. Fall warblers were relatively diverse with 21 species recorded. Audubon State Park had the nicest flocks, that included a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher on Sunday morning. Both Saturday and Sunday were big "moving days" for butterflies with the sky full of migrating individuals, mostly Monarchs and Buckeyes. Thanks to everyone who contributed to making it a very enjoyable weekend. Brainard Palmer-Ball, Corresp. Sec.
