Numerous flocks of Blue Jays were flying southwest over the Interpretive Center
at the Falls, conservative number of jays was 750 plus. Three species of
gulls; ringed-billed, herring and laughing gull observed. The Laughing Gull
was a juvenile, dark brown with black tail, white rump and broad white trailing
edges of wings. Had excellent views of this gull, flew in eye level, close to
observation deck. Three peregrine falcons: one adult and two juveniles were
putting on a spectacular aerial show, with high climbs and stoops. One
peregrine gave a harassing chase to the lone greater yellowlegs on the outer
fossil beds.

Fifty plus grade school students got to view a osprey feeding on a fish, it's
fun to watch their expressions once they spotted the osprey in the spotting
scope.
