I am on call today and hence things depend on whether or not I have an
emergency.Otherwise, I plan on going to Anchorage Trail.

Also, update, just had chuck-wills-widow at McNeely Lake South, so need to
cover it unless you want to find chucks for the year.

Now that James has said it, there are 3 places I would like to get coverage of
if we can:
The summit of Iroquois Park- often good for olive-sided flycat, Mourning
Warbler and occasionally Black-billed Cuckoo, which I once found in June,
hoping they might nest, but alas. I also have often found sedge and Marsh
Wrens on the spring migration count.
Blackacre Nature Preserve- can be good for grassland species depending on
whether it has been mowed and is often reliable for bobwhite
Anchorage Trail- never know what will be there
I'm planning on waking up early morning, since I'm staying a 10 min. drive
from the model airplane field at McNeely South to listen for nightjars, but I
might miss them so anyone else who wants to stop by there in the evening feel
free.

Thanks Michael, for coordinating...
Cherokee (primary spot for me)Caperton, Hays-Kennedy/Garvin, Falls of the Ohio,
Beckley
Typically I go in that order until I either hit 100 species or run out of
steam, whichever comes first. To date, running out of steam has always come
first:-(

It has come to my attention a lot of people will be out of town for
one reason or another, but wanted to reach out to the birding
community to remind them that Global Big Day is upon us and to record
anything and everything you can this Saturday. I will be limited on
what I can do, but if you have the time or interest get out and post
on here, so we can figure out who will be available to cover what
areas. In order to get the most bird diversity, it would be best if
certain key areas are covered. Some of those key spots are:
Cherokee Park
Falls of the Ohio
Beckley Creek-Grand Allee section
Garvin Brown Preserve/ Hays Kennedy
South Beargrass Creek Retention Basin
Beargrass Creek Nature Preserve/ Joe Creason Park
Pope Lick/ Turkey Run/ Broad Run Parks
Jefferson Memorial Forest for breeding residents
E.P. Tom Sawyer Park/ Anchorage Trail
Recovery Lane( for potential breeding Bell's Vireo)
Iroquois Park
Harrods Creek Park/ Putney Pond
Blackacre Nature Preserve
Places requiring a key or limited access:
Melco
Surrey Hills Farm
Please reply all, and see if we can get a visual map of who will cover
what, but above all...just have fun. Thank you and good birding.

Louisville, KY
