The single female Purple Finch has been visiting our feeders, daily, since it
first appeared on April 28. It was eating black oil sunflower seed, while we
ate our dinner this evening. I’m reporting it because eBird finally hinted,
today, that it shouldn’t be here anymore.
Oddly, we still have three Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, too. We normally see one
or two, briefly, during spring migration, but this year there’s more and
they’re hanging out far longer.
