In yesterday evening's post, I probably should have stated the obvious ... we
missed the pelican, but Barren River Lake is a large reservoir with many nooks
and crannies. I believe it is probably just as likely that the bird has moved
to a spot where it could not be viewed yesterday as that it departed. Vagrant
Brown Pelicans often do appear to move around quite a bit, but it also could
still be around and could reappear on the reservoir.
We checked the best overlooks from near the dam to the state park dock and
beach, but we also went down to Walnut Creek.
