This morning, as I was standing on the bank of backfield pond, 2 Canada Geese
landed in the meadow just across the pond from where I stood. Bridge circled
the pond and made them take flight. Not much intimidated by Bridge, they
circled, then came in for a landing on the pond no more than 20 feet from where
I stood. Showing such bravery makes me think another nesting attempt may be in
store. At middle pond there were 2 male Mallards and a pair of Blue-winged
Teals, which have all been there for many days. Haven't seen Mrs. Mallard in a
while. She may be sitting on eggs. If the Teals try to nest it will be a first
for my pond.
