Speaking of yellow and warblers, we did a quick experiment this evening.
There’s a spot we walk by daily where Kentucky Warblers live; they occasionally
fuss at us in the spring and summer, but have been totally silent and invisible
since mid-July. I wondered if they’d quit singing and/or quit caring about us,
or if they had dispersed and moved on.
This evening I played the Kentucky Warbler song and out he came! My curiosity
satisfied, I quit pestering him. Oddly, I heard a different KY warbler singing
in the woods behind the house for the first time in months, shortly after that.

Subject: [birdky] Odd Towhee song, etc.
We have been hearing a Towhee with an odd song, this year. I finally got a
passable video with sound, this evening, which I posted to Flickr - link below.
Otherwise, we counted three Warblers today, which is an August oddity, here. I
added a Yellowthroat and Yellow to the Yellow-throated that I reported this
morning. Yellow was the warbler theme, today.
