Not totally unexpected but not unusual for us to have 50 Goldfinches in the
garden now a days feeding on our huge sunflower patch. When we go into the back
garden the Goldfinches fly into the front yard sunflowers. Sunflowers are
sooooo easy to grow. Think I will plant an acre or two next year in a back
field.

Four swans just flew past, north of the house and heading directly west.
Could they be anything but Mutes, in July, in Kentucky?
It is a lovely, cool, summer morning and swans were the last thing I expected
to see.
