I talked with a Florida birding friend last night and he was on his way to
Wildwood, FL, vicinity of the Villages, for Mississipi Kite observing today.
Last weekend he had a dozen. Last summer a little later at the green melon
fields in the same area he had hundreds if not thousands of MS Kites feeding on
"stink bugs" in the melon fields. Shallow Tail Kites are mixed in the feeding
frenzies as well.

Nice!!J I checked and listened for them before work ,near the tennis courts of
Cherokee Park, just in case they had returned but did not detect them.
