Did I miss a post from the KOS trip to Sloughs WMA on Saturday????? Someone please fill us in on what was seen and heard? Thanks, I was in southeastern Pulaski County all day yesterday, tracking Indiana bats through the woods. The Yellow-thoated and Black-and-white Warblers didn't realize it, but they had a competition going to see who could be heard the most by me. Yellow-throateds ended up winning, in large part because they continued to sing better through the afternoon. Final tally, Yellow-throateds -- 28, Black-and-whites -- 21, Black-throated Greens -- 12, Pine Warblers -- 9, Louisiana Waterthrush -- 1. Others: Blue-headed Vireo -- 5; Broad-winged Hawk -- 2; Blue-gray Gnatcatchers -- many; Vesper Sparrow -- 1 (in a funny place, small strip of farmland in otherwise wooded land). bpb, Louisville brainard.palmer-ball@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== The BIRDKY Mailing List requires you to sign your messages with first & last name, city, & state abbreviation. -------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the Kentucky Ornithological Society web site at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison, Richmond, KY E-mail: gary.ritchison@xxxxxxx
