Hi All, The last two ponds were in the process of being drained today (the last two big ponds near the road) and there were a few waterbirds left. I spent most of the time walking around the oxbow lake chasing sparrows. MCFH 5 Pectoral Sandpipers (first time in 3 weeks I've had more than 2 at a time. All on the first big pond being drained) 1 Northern Shoveler (big pond, there were 3 last weekend) 5 Mallard 4 BW Teal (big pond) 18 Killdeer 2 Am. Coot (oxbow) 1 PB Grebe (oxbow) 4 Am. Pipit 1 Ring-billed Gull (big pond) 1 Bald Eagle 1 Marsh Wren (in the cattails at the end of oxbow lake. started chattering and came out of the reeds when pished) 40+ Yellow-rumped Warblers 1 E. Towhee 3 Field Sparrow 1 Fox Sparrow 8 Song Sparrow 1 Lincoln's Sparrow 4 Swamp Sparrow 2 White-crowned Sparrow 2 White-throated Sparrow High Bank Picnic Area: Both Kinglets 5 Yellow-rumped Warber 1 Tennessee Warber 1 Bay-breasted Warbler 1 Bald Eagle Shallow Flats Ponds 17 Gadwall (probably more too back-lit to ID) 8 Am.
