Two Bald Eagles, mature, between the back of our place, and the next road
over, the Beech Creek-Browder Rd, where Merle Travis lived from the time he was
2 or 3 until 9 or 10. Merle wrote a song about the Beech Creek Coal Company
where his Pappy worked, who said he "owed his soul, to the company store."
From 16 Tons.........a KY song if there ever was one. That other KY song was
written by a fellow who lived on the Suwanee River on the gulf coast of FL. We
have been there, too, and noticed several dead eagles along the road and when I
ask why the reply was road kill in that swampy area attracted the eagles at the
risk of them also becoming, "road kill." This was the first time ever to see
two Eagles in one day here at Outer Browder. They were circling one another
like vultures do.
