For anyone who might be interested, I'm going to offer spring bird and
flower hikes again this year at Mammoth Cave N.P. Bird hikes will begin at
8:30 a.m. every Monday and Thursday, followed by wildflower walks at 11:15.
We always begin at the park visitor center. Hikes will run from March 18th
through the end of April. Once migration kicks in a little more earnestly,
I'll be over at the park earlier to do some birding before the "official"
park hike starts at 8:30. Anyone wishing to join us early can contact me.
Each walk generally lasts around two hours, and everyone is welcome to join
us. The bird hikes are not a good match for very young children, as they
don't have the skills to use binoculars. Speaking of binoculars, I have
several extra pairs to loan out, courtesy of a KOS grant a few years ago.
Come see what your national park has to offer; you won't be
disappointed. 🦆 😎
Have a good spring,
