16 birders joined me on a nice morning of Birding.
Diversity was low and Warbler numbers were down except for TN Warblers that
were singing loud and proud.
I heard a partial song of a Warbler as I got out of my car to greet the
birders, it was jerky like a Connecticut but I didn’t find or hear it again
after that brief 3 second song. It could have been a weird Northern Waterthrush
Song, but I didn’t hear any Waterthrush chip notes associated or song after
either.
Highlights from the walk include nice looks at catbirds, wood thrush,
Yellow-throated Warbler, Northern Parula, Red-eyed Vireo, and an amorous Indigo
Bunting.
Our last Cherokee Park Spring Walk will be next Wednesday May 15th.
