The Louisville KY CBC was held today. It was mild but afternoon overcast
made it feel much colder than the number on our weather apps.
I am traveling tomorrow so I’ll post soon a more substantive summary in a
couple days, but we have a preliminary total of 98 species!
We had a number of remarkable birds, all noted in eBird and some on birdky
posts. The two that leap out, however, are the continuing Western Tanager
that’s been around for [however many days ago that BPB noted the bird’s
presence], and this morning’s Prairie Falcon found by Jamie Baker.
We hope both birds stick around long enough for our friends from outside the
Louisville metro area to come see them, and our local neighbors to see them
as well.
Thanks to all the awesome section leaders and their participants for a full
day of birding! As always, thanks to the gracious hospitality of Win and
Debbie for the compilation dinner!
