Yesterday Doreen and I looked for the scoters and common mergansers at the two Lexington reservoirs without any luck. We did see a nice mix of ducks and grebes, including hooded mergansers, goldeneyes, buffleheads and horned grebes. The highlight was a female long-tailed duck, seen at a distance of about 100 yards on the northern half of the old Lexington reservoir from the causeway. We have reasonable digiscoped images if needed. We also briefly saw an unidentifiable duck in the distance at Jacobsen Park. It didn't mix with other ducks including redheads, was a diver, and had a red-brown head with a white breast and body and short bill. If anyone gets another look, we'd appreciate your thoughts.
