On Sunday, we had a conversation here about the fact that we have not seen the
Leucistic Red-tail in a while. It's home range seems to have shifted about a
mile to our south-west, plus the fact that it just disappears against the
glaring summer sky, makes it tough to spot. It has been three years since we
first were aware of it, so I'm always apprehensive when we have not seen it in
a while. Anyway, I saw a Kestrel diving to harass something in a tree, beyond
the south field, around noon today, which turned out to be the white hawk.
This photo was taken at 600+ yards, but you can still make it out pretty well.
