As a few of you know, I have taken a position in Houston, Texas and will be moving down next week. As a result, today was my last day birding in Kentucky (at least for a while). Marissa and myself had a decent morning (for the county). We pretty much just birded Owsley Fork and it has lots of shorebird/waterfowl habitat present. The following birds were noteworthy for the area: Worm-eating Warbler- 1 in a PINE tree Pine Warbler- 7-8 of all different shades Chestnut-sided Warbler- very drab bird Magnolia Warbler- seen by Marissa Least Flycatcher Little Blue Heron- 4 juvi Semipalmated Sandpiper- 1 Pectoral Sandpiper- 3 at Owsley, 1 at White Hall Solitary Sandpiper- 1 at White Hall Least Sandpiper- 4 Semipalmated Sandpiper- 2 Two distant ducks appeared to be teal sp. based on size comparison with mallards. It has been fun getting to know y'all and wish you many good days afield.
