Hi,
We held the Land Between the Lakes CBC last Saturday, Dec. 17th. It was a wacky
weather day, to say the least! Temps rising to about 70 degrees, but windy and
stormy, leading up to an evening temperature drop of over 40 degrees! Some
participants felt that the wind made it hard to find songbirds, and hard to
make out ducks on the water. But we still managed to tally 95 species! There's
definitely some interesting stuff in here ... a very high count of eagles, and
some unusual species as you'll see below. There were a few species we typically
see but missed this year -- American Wigeon, Hermit Thrush, and House Sparrow
among them. But all in all, it was a great day! Thanks to all of our 21
participants for being a part of it! Here is the tally:
