I made a quick check of Lake #9 while in the area this afternoon. I was not out birding but couldn't resist stopping to check on conditions. The lake has dried up to a few puddles. There was only a handful of Egrets and Herons remaining. Shorebirds are still plentiful on the mud but the numbers are decreasing. There are now two Willet's, Pectoral Sandpipers, Semipalmated Sandpipers, Spotted Sandpiper, Least Sandpiper, Solitary Sandpiper, Lesser and Greater Yellowlegs and more that I did not have time to scope.
