NEITHER THE GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH NOR CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER WERE FOUND THIS WEEKEND, BUT A YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER WAS FOUND IN A SMALL GROVE OF YOUNG HEMLOCK IN THE BACK OF THE CEMETERY. IT WAS OBSEVED AT CLOSE RANGE FOR SOME TIME, GIVING ITS CALL NOTE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. ITS FEEDING HABITS WERE SIMILAR TO THE QUICK TREE PREENING MOVEMENTS OF A RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, BUT WITH THE CUSTOMARY PAUSES OF A FLYCATCHER. THE MINOR CLARK FISH HATCHERY HAD NO SHOREBIRD HABITAT, THUS NO SHOREBIRDS. I DID SEE YELLOW WARBLER, CHATS, ORCHARD ORIOLE (MALE SINGING, FEMALE FEEDING FLEDGLING), CAT BIRD, RED-SHOULDERED HAWK, OSPREY, AND (ON THE SAME LIMB) A RED-EYED AND A YELLOW-THROATED VIREO SINGING. THE HATCHERY HAS ATTEMPTED TO RUN OFF THE HERONS AND HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL WITH THE GREAT BLUES. THE GREENS (SHY POKES) ARE NOW SHYER POKES, BUT STILL THERE.
