Arrived early at LBL with intentions of spending most of the day. After about an hour of birding around KY lake drive and a couple other spots on the north end it appears that passerine numbers are relatively low. With the wind picking up I decided to check the dams and lakes for water birds while I had the chance. Although I didn't find the brown pelican, any scoters or a western grebe it was a nice cool morning to be out. No water is being spilled at the dams and gull numbers are low. About 30 A. white pelicans were below Barkley as were several cormorants and forsters terns along with 3 blk-cr night herons. All species of egrets were easily picked out on their morning flight. About 8 common loons were seen flying over early on KY lake. The only other water birds seen were 2 goldeneye and 1 bufflehead above KY dam. Other than breeding birds and tons of yellow-rumps and Palm warblers the only highlights were 1 female bay-br warbler along KY lake drive and 1 male Cape May warbler at Boyd's Landing.
