Randy,
The eBird Global Big Day may be the 2nd, I’m not sure, so there will be a
lot of birding going on in Louisville and Lexington. Louisville will have
the Kentucky Derby so travel around there might be difficult. If you are
in around Lexington you can join one of the groups as we will be hitting up
most of the Hotspots to get as many species as possible. We are likely to
get Hooded and Kentucky Warbler, we have a good spot for Henslow’s (if they
maintain the grass which they usually do early in the season). We will
more than likely get Blue Grosbeak and Dickcissel. If you check eBird for
Fayette county over the last couple of big days you’ll see the species we
get then.
I’ll be coordinating our groups going out that day so will be able to get
you in on these. For Swainsons and Ceruleans the best spot is the red
river gorge where they breed. We should be able to coordinate this for you
below are the ones I couldn’t guarantee on the day but could get most of
them during the week.
