Breeding plumage was the look of the day at Barkley and KY dams. The American White Pelicans were once again loafing below both dams. The birds that caught our attention at Barkley Dam were 17 Great Egrets. Many of them had the Lime-green lores of high breeding plumage. Melissa and I agreed we had never seen them look so lovely. Many horned grebes and Common Loons are also in full breeding plumage.
