I don’t make many summer farm circle reports because my summer daily lists
usually consist of about the same set of birds day in and day out. I missed a
number of usual commoners this morning, but I decided to make a report because
I saw a Great Egret at middle pond. I think I can count on the fingers of one
hand the number of times I’ve seen any Great Egrets on this place. I would have
used to say the same thing about Barn Owls, but I’ve been seeing them every day
since July 19. Got 3 in one frame this morning. We have enough hummingbirds to
consume 3 cups of nectar each day plus I’ve been seeing boatloads of
Rough-winged Swallows lately.
