Susan, plant tubular-shaped flowers to bring in the hummingbirds. Red flowers
such as bee balm, trumpet honeysuckle, cross vine, columbine will attract them.
Others like beardstongue, bergamot will work too. They need cover to perch in
so they can watch over “their” feeder and to shelter from heavy rains.
During fall migration, we get 8 -12 hovering around our feeders at one time.
Rest of the season, they are fighting others, even butterflies that get too
close! Good luck for next year.

This weekend, LBL, at The Nature Center. If you have not been you are
missing seeing a large # of hummers, at one time, hundreds. You cannot
count. There will be crowds and the parking lot may be full, but I am sure
the Hummers are there days before and afterwards.
By the way "our" hummer daily count at Browder, KY is up to 10 at one time,
w/ two feeders.
