Right off at 4 pm, cst, we had one Cooper Hawk, darkly lite, sitting on the top
of a pole, w/out a nest box, along the southerly "S" gravel drive. Followed by
two Bald Eagles sitting on a limb one ft apart above the swampy lagoon at the
very southern end of the long S "drive." Then for the next 45 minutes SWMA only
yielded 4 Northern Harriers from the High Spot, with one flying close to our
vehicle blind.
There were a few minor Mummerations, nothing like a mile long one of black
birds a few days ago. They are a twisting study of black and white.
It was lightly raining and darker than the previous evenings.
