The Ohio River is up over the road at 268/River slough, but the Long-tailed
Duck continues with Lesser Scaup at the east end of the slough.


Highlights:
FOS 2 N. Parula
FOS 1 White-eyed Vireo

Blue-gray Gnatcatcher numbers are really up.


NO shorebirds seen except a Killdeer.
Lots of habitat at Wood Tract north, but except for Coots and teal and
shovelers it was deserted.
The Shorebird Unit is flooded. And water from Muddy Slough is flowing over the
road next to the SBU.




High back water kept me for checking on the Bald Eagle nest at Gentle Pond.
High back water along the road to Pond Creek Marsh kept me from checking on the
Anderson Pond nest.


The gravel road back to the Shorebird Unit is closed. It seems the culvert
under that road from Muddy Slough to Pond Creek is washing out. But it was
easily walkable.
