Just wanted to let all birders know about the new hawk watch event. Pine Mountain State Park, Cumberland Gap National Historic Park and Ky Fish and Wildlife are sponsoring this weekend celebrating soaring and gliding hawks migrating through the southern mountains. There will be programs featuring live birds of prey, including birds from Raptor Rehab of Ky, and Salato Wildlife Center, guided walks on Pinnacle Overlook, and demonstrations, with special speakers on birds of prey. All events are free and it's closer than driving to Hawk Mountain in PA. It sounds like a great opportunity for KY birders!
