Saturday, 9-8 A quick trip to the ponded areas of JC Jones Road yielded 1 l. yellowlegs, 1 semipalmated plover, approx 1 million killdeer, 6 semipalmated sandpipers, 3 pectoral sandpipers, and 1 western sandpiper. Sunday, 9-10 Birding at Wax and Dog Creek areas Nolin River lake didn't produce as many migrants as we had hoped, after yesterday's front. Highlights included: 1 osprey fishing over the lake 2 bright prairie warblers (singing) 2 n. parulas (singing) 3 redstarts 1 magnolia summer tanager lots of waxwings pied-billed grebe Still plenty of hummingbirds hanging around the porch here.
