Everyone says the same thing. I was wrong again on both counts. Certainly did not think it was a warbler. It was always in the sand at the edge of the grassy area, pecking and flitting around, flipping its tail. It was there many times during the day and always by itself. Because of the lighting, that is the best photo I could get of it... Also did not think that was a Willet..... which is why I still call myself an "intermediate novice." Thanks to all... Looks like palm warblers and a willet to me. The first one in this link (actually two photos) was a daily visitor to the sandy area in front of our room which faced the Gulf. He had a definite yellowish rump, but under his tail, not like a YR Warbler. The third photo is of a sandpiper, larger than most of the others. There was a group of about 6 of these and they were taller and bigger than the other sandpipers, plovers, etc. on the beach. I THINK I have identified them, using IBird Pro and the Cornell web site, but I am probably wrong, as usual. Here is the link.
