Not a lot to see today at 739 ponds. Most migrants were gone except a handful of Semi-palmated Sandpipers and one Northern Shoveler. There was one brood of Mallard ducklings on the big pond and a brood of 9 Wood Ducklings on the little pond. On the way home I decided to stop at some conservation land that looks favorable for summer grassland birds. A few minutes there yielded singing Yellowthroats, Indigo Buntings, Field Sparrows and many Dickcissels. I also saw a deer with a fawn while there. I posted a picture of a Dickcissel + a shot of the field + the deer with fawn. http://www.flickr.com/photos/57339816@N08/8832233902/in/photostream/ Frank Lyne frank@xxxxxxxxxxx - near Dot in Logan County, KY ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== When posting on BIRDKY, please close posts with your first and last name and your address (city or county). * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To post on BIRDKY, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the KOS website at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos/default.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the KOS Photo Page to view photos of birds recently sighted in Kentucky: http://www.flickr.com/groups/kentucky_ornithological_society/pool * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison.
