it turns out the birding was pretty good. I birded near the tennis courts in Cherokee Park and at Nettelroth for a couple of hours. Thrushes were abundant, especially Swainson's which seem to have really come in. I also had a Veery and several Wood Thrushes. Migrant warblers are finally starting to arrive. I managed 14 species but Yellow-rumps were still by far the most abundant: Ovenbird Blue-winged Tennessee Nashville Hooded Cape May N. Parula Magnolia Bay-breasted Blackpoll Palm Yellow-rumped Yellow-throated Other highlights were a Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, and Scarlet Tanager.
