I spend a week every year in Jabez at a Forest Leadership Camp teaching high school students what it is like to work in the environmental field. Every year there are students from Somerset that work with the raptors, they are extraordinary kids, and this would be a great resource to Kentucky raptors! To win, they need our online votes. This raptor rehabilitation center, led by Frances Carter does a great job caring for and releasing injured raptors in KY. This organization involves the local high school kids in caring for raptors as an afterschool activity, teaching them leadership, responsibility and raptor ecology. Just last year they cared for and successfully released a young peregrine falcon that had been hit by a car near Lake Cumberland (among many other released raptors). These folks do a great job and a great service for our KY raptors. Please visit the link below to vote for their proposal before May 31.
