I was a spectator this morning as Cedar Waxwings raided poke and hawthorn
berries, in the pond thicket, that the mockingbirds are convinced belong to
them. The mockingbirds were exasperated by an estimated 30 to 40 waxwings. I
managed a few waxwing photos including one of some of them resting in the top
of the cross-road walnut tree (I think I count 22 individuals) and a short
video clip of the sentinel that was keeping watch on top of the Hawthorne.
They are marvelously lovely creatures... I'll never tire of seeing them.
