I am forwarding information about a worthwhile activity. I participated in the first session of this yesterday, March 26. Several students from U of L also participated. Some picked up litter; most worked on removing bush honeysuckle from a section near the entrance. Got a cool T-shirt in the process. The work is part of a long-term plan to remove invasive plants and restore successional habitat in Caperton. Metro Parks has been good about trying to retain Caperton as a natural area. ----- forwarded message ----- Caperton Swamp, located on River Road at its intersection with Indian Hills Trail and River Road, has a long history as a premier birding location.
