I was birding near the Grassy Pond area of the Sloughs. Checking out the drying slough areas (transient ponds) that the farmers have not been able to plant yet. Looking at the Great Egrets, GBHerons, Killdeer and spotted a single Black Necked Stilt. Is it staying around, going north, going south....???? Who knows? (And I haven't seen the Western Kingbird.)
