Eddie and I birded Black Acre Nature Preserve in Jeffersontown this morning in preparation for the Beckham field trip on October 9. The highlights of the trip were: Warblers: 2 Nashville 2 Magnolias 7 Black-throated Greens 2 Black & White 1 Ovenbird Other birds of interest were: Several Scarlet & Summer Tanagers 2 White-throated Sparrows (our first for the season) 1 Ruby-cr. Kinglet (our first for the season) Several flickers 2 Red-eyed Vireos 1 Philadelphia Vireo 1 Wood Duck Eastern Bluebird Brown Thrasher Several Female Indigo Buntings While pishing we were mobbed by chickadees and titmice which attracted a ruby-cr. kinglet and a black-throated green.
