The weather was not fit for birding today. Even so, while in Bowling Green to
see an art show we were in, we swung by Basil Griffin Park in hopes of spotting
the Red-necked Grebe from the car. No luck. But we did spot a Bald Eagle. I
hope it didn't eat the Red-necked Grebe for supper. It seemed to have
everything frightened. Tried scanning with the scope from beneath a canopy
shelter until my fingers got numb. Rain was blowing most of the way across the
rather spacious shelter. Saw 3 Ring-necked Ducks, 3 Pied-billed Grebes, many
Coots, a few Mallards, Canada Geese & a Great Blue Heron. (And at the art show
we spotted a couple of bird photographs by Blaine Ferrel.) Eagle & duck pics
