I'm wondering how many insects it takes to take 9 Barn Swallows from eggs to
flying juveniles in ~20 days? We had the first of them (in their porch and
garage nests) hatch on July 4 and, by last evening, they are all out of the
nests and most in the air. They're amazing!
I suspect that the recent hateful heat encouraged them to get out of the nests.
