We were also at Mammoth Cave yesterday for a Beckham Bird Club field trip. We don't know where Tom was but we did not have mist - WE HAD RAIN until 12:30 CDT. : ) However we did manage to find some good birds. Maybe we would have had more species, if we could have seen them through the rain, fog and gray skies. We had 15 species of warblers, a white-eyed vireo, one red-breasted nuthatch, a ruby-crown kinglet, lots of thrushes both gray-cheeked and Swainson's, one veery and one wood thrush. Several summer tanagers including one that seemed to follow us down the path near the amphitheater. We only saw one rose-breasted grosbeak. We totaled 50 species.
