We just had 30 cranes fly over our house in Taylorsville heading due north at
0853. Very, very, cool. Nice way to start the day.

Subject: [birdky] BKY: Cranes in Hardin and Jefferson Counties
We were in Hardin County this morning between 9:30 and 11:30. Cranes were in
the field behind the fire station on Highway 86. We drove down South Black
Branch Road and there were hundreds or more in the fields and flying overhead.
Many more cranes were found along the roads on both sides of highway 86. We
estimated about 2500 cranes were in the area.
Before and after evening Mass (5:00 P.M.) in eastern Jefferson County cranes
were flying north and northwest. There were approximately 385 cranes. We
wondered how many were flying while we were in church.
Finally we had a sunny day for birding. Awesome!
