I also have the chuckwillwidows here at the farm/I have less whippoor
wills but have for many years had the chuck!! I had an unusual
experience today!! I was driving to Owensboro today and was on Hwy,#110
beween Falls of Rough and hwy.54 and came around a curve and saw, what
looked like< a small brown bundle of s traw and decided to go around it,
As I got closer it had big yellow eyes with its back to me but its eyes
were at a 180 degree looking a t me//wings were spread and it tail was
spread out (I thought it was hurt) and it just flew away and of course
it was a barred owl and it was ANTING on the hot pavement/ I had neaver
seen an owl do this (11 oclock c.s.t.)as I drove back I wa tched to see
if it got killed doing this again but no sign of it,thank goodness!!!
