I went to Anchorage Trail with Meg Brown this morning to look for the
recently reported Henslow's Sparrow(s), but instead found the field near
the helipad being mowed by a guy on a tractor with a bush-hog attachment.
By the time we got to the part of the trail near the field, he had finished
mowing, and we could find no signs or sounds of the Henslow's. Hopefully
they/it can find some suitable habitat nearby, but I fear that field is no
longer a good spot for them.
We did have an excellent outing otherwise, with 53 species on our list.
