Kentucky Birders, Michelle and I knew the floodgates for spring warblers had opened when we heard 6 different species from our parking spot this morning in the Daniel Boone NF. A total of 11 warbler species were noted during the day and three species of vireo. Warblers included Yellow-throated, Pine, Hooded, Worm-eating, Black-throated Green, Ovenbird, La Waterthrush, Cerulean, C. Yellowthroat, Parula, and Black & White. Best bird was a Sharpie that took a bird on the wing over the creek right in front of us. We also had our first Broadwing of 2011. Great day to be out birding.
