standing at our back window saturday morning with enough child still in
me to enjoy viewing the wintery scene, but not enough to brave it, I
watched an onslaught of robins appear out of the falling snow and ornate
our fruit laden Hackberry tree. It would have made a good xmas card pic.
sunday morning:
the lexington reservoirs were alive with Hooded Mergansers and Horned
Grebes; 225 of the former, 19 of the latter. The Red-necked Grebe was
still found at Jacobson Park too. After checking the reservoirs, a trip
to Lowes on Richmond road was timed perfectly to view 40+ Sandhills
fairly low and headed south. Well, it would been better to have arrived
in time to listen to them.
